TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT COURSE FOR GEOMATICS FIELD OPERATIONS

The Traffic Management Course for Geomatics Field Operations was held from 11 to 14 October 2026 at The Everly Putrajaya. The course aimed to strengthen safety awareness and traffic management practices among licensed land surveyors (LS), assistant surveyors and survey operators working along roads, highways and areas with active traffic.

Geomatics field personnel face significant hazards, including high-speed traffic, heavy vehicles, limited visibility, narrow road shoulders and restricted working space. These conditions underscore the need for effective safety measures to prevent serious injuries and fatalities.

In response, PEJUTA developed a Health, Safety and Environment Management System (HSE MS) and an HSE Plan for the geomatics profession in Malaysia. As the first training programme developed under this framework, the course marked an important step towards embedding a culture of safety and strengthening occupational safety and health practices across the profession.
