GEOMATICS & GEOSPATIAL TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE 2025 (GGT 2025)

The Geomatics & Geospatial Technology Conference 2025 (GGT 2025) was held from 19 to 20 August 2025 at the Intercontinental Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. The conference carried the theme “Next-Gen Geospatial Intelligence: The Role of AI in Geomatics”, highlighting the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in advancing geomatics and geospatial technologies.

The conference was organized by the Geomatics and Land Survey Division (GLS), Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM) in collaboration with the Department of Survey and Mapping Malaysia (JUPEM) and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). It was officiated by Puan Norsham binti Abdul Latip, Deputy Secretary General (Natural Resources), Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES).

This prestigious event successfully gathered over 300 participants from government agencies, private sector and international delegates including Brunei. It featured 8 keynote speakers from Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and Indonesia along with 31 academic paper presentations covering various fields such as GIS, UAV, LiDAR, 3D Modelling and the integration of BIM with AI. In addition, 16 industry exhibition booths were showcased to highlight the latest technological advancements in geomatics.

The Association of Authorised Land Surveyors Malaysia (PEJUTA) strongly supported this event by sending over 100 Licensed Land Surveyors as participants. PEJUTA also proudly notes that its President, LSr Md Rodi bin Ismail was invited to deliver a presentation titled “The Smart Evolution: AI Powered Transformation in Geomatics”. Meanwhile, PEJUTA Vice President, LSr Ezam bin Ariffin was also among the presenters on the first day of the conference, delivering his paper on “Integrating UAV Aerial Imagery with Utility Data: A Modern Approach to Infrastructure Monitoring”.
